Andrew Lipshitz is a distinguished General Counsel and Director with extensive expertise in commercial and corporate law. He began his career as an attorney and director at Werksmans Inc., a prominent South African law firm, where he specialized in M&A, cross-border transactions, and listing work, with significant experience in the IT and finance sectors, including senior-level banking and finance work.

Following his tenure at Werksmans, Andrew transitioned to a leadership role in the coal industry where he now has 20+ years of experience.  First with Mashala Resources, which was later sold to Continental Coal South Africa. Andrew was responsible for the commercial and legal functions, overseeing negotiations for numerous pivotal business transactions involving joint ventures, contractors, and funding arrangements. Andrew played a key role in the successful implementation of these transactions.

Andrew currently serves as General Counsel at Africoal, where he leverages his extensive legal and commercial expertise.
