Mbali Lubisi began her career while still a student at the University of Johannesburg, gaining initial experience through a learnership at the Doornfontein Water Treatment Plant in 2013. She further developed her skills during her Work Integrated Learning at Mintek, an innovation and research company in Randburg, from 2014 to 2015.

In 2016, Mbali joined the company as a Laboratory Sample Preparation Operator at Mooifontein Colliery. That same year, she also served as a Quality Assistant and Site Safety Representative, working closely with the Quality Manager.

Mbali holds a BTech in Chemical Engineering and has additional qualifications in Advanced Lump Ore Beneficiation from Colliery Training College, Laboratory Systems (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) with the South African National Standards (SANAS), and Internal Auditing with SANAS.

She worked as an Assistant Operator at Inyanda and Pit D from 2019 to 2022. In 2023, Mbali was appointed as Laboratory Manager at Wilge Laboratory, where she plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Quality Laboratory Services.
